Community Meeting

The Caldecott Project Team held a community meeting with residents who live near the western portal of the Caldecott Tunnel on the evening of Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Henry J. Kaiser Elementary School in Oakland. The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. in an open house format where community members mingled with Caltrans staff and asked questions about the project. Afterwards, Cristina Ferraz, the Project Manager, gave a short presentation, providing general information on the project. Bill Bornman, Senior Construction Engineer, talked about construction issues that may effect residents living near the west portal: parking, truck traffic and the construction of a temporary soundwall.

Glenn Kinoshita, a Caltrans Environmental Engineer, spoke about noise monitoring. Jeff Weiss spoke briefly about his role as the project's Public Information Officer.
